Opening of the Riksdag session
The ceremony for the opening of the Riksdag session marks the start of the 2025/26 parliamentary year. At the request of the Speaker, H.M. The King will declare the 2025/26 Riksdag session open. Then, the Prime Minister will present the Statement of Government Policy, outlining the policies the Government intends to pursue during the coming year.
The session will be interpreted into English and a live webcast will also be available in English. It will also be possible to watch the interpreted session afterwards.
Only invited guests may attend the opening of the Riksdag session.
