Opening of the Riksdag session
The new parliamentary working year, the 2025/26 Riksdag session, is about to begin.
The webcast from the opening of the Riksdag session will start at 12.45 p.m. (In Swedish). The guests arrive at Riksplan, and at 2 p.m. the opening ceremony will start in the Chamber. At the request of the Speaker Andreas Norlén, H.M. The King will declare the Riksdag session open. The Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (Moderate Party) will then read the Statement of Government Policy, presenting the Government's intended policies for the coming year.
Only invited guests may attend the opening of the Riksdag session.
The ceremony will be interpreted into English and sign language from 2 p.m.
