Here you will find practical information if you are a journalist or photographer planning to work at the Riksdag in connection with the 2026 parliamentary elections.
Keep track of press meetings in connection with the elections and the formation of the new government
Subscribe to press releases of the Riksdag to receive information about press meetings and events at the Riksdag after the elections. This information is also published on the election page on the Riksdag website and is continuously updated. All updates will also be published via X (@sverigesRiksdag) and Bluesky (@sverigesriksdag.bsky.social)

Webcasts from the Chamber and Press Centre
The Riksdag has its own television service and provides live webcasts of debates and decisions in the Chamber and certain other events, for example press meetings in the Press Centre to which journalists are invited by the Speaker. Media companies and other websites can use the broadcasts provided by the Riksdag webcast service. The broadcasts can be viewed on demand. Press conferences organised by political parties in the Riksdag or by individual members of the Riksdag are not broadcast.
Taking photos in the café and restaurants not allowed
There are special rules for the taking of photos on Riksdag premises. For example, it is not allowed to take photos in the café and restaurants. Nor is it permitted to take photographs in the benches or on the podium of the Chamber.
Press images
The Riksdag’s press images can be used freely in contexts in which the Riksdag and the work of the Riksdag are described. Please state the name of the photographer and the source.
Media accreditation to the Riksdag
Journalists and photographers wishing to work independently in the Riksdag premises require media accreditation to the Riksdag. Information and an application form are available on www.riksdagen.se.
Service to the media
The media premises are situated on floor 7 of the West Wing of the Riksdag. You can also enter the Press Gallery from there. Accredited journalists may also use the Riksdag’s wireless network. Certain premises in the Riksdag buildings also provide a facility for audio recording.
