About the Riksdag Library

Everyone is welcome to visit and use the Library. The Riksdag Library is situated in a beautiful building at Storkyrkobrinken 7 A in Stockholm.

Opening hours:

  • Monday to Thursday 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Friday 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

The Riksdag Library’s discovery tool enables you to find almost everything in the Library’s collections. Here you will find extensive material including the Library's books and e-books, articles and journals. Log in to My account to order books and view your loans.

Borrow from the Riksdag Library

Anyone who has reached the age of 18 can register as a user of the Riksdag Library. Once you have registered as a user, you can request, reserve and borrow books. On the page Request and borrow you will find information about how to borrow publications from us.

Irregular opening hours

The Library is closed on public holidays and during the summer. In 2024, the Library will be closed on the following dates:

  • Easter: 28 March–1 April
  • Walpurgis fair evening–30 April 
  • May Day: 1 May
  • Ascension Day: 9 May
  • Sweden’s National Day: 6 June
  • Midsummer: 20–21 June
  • Summer: 1 July–11 August
  • Staff planning meetings: 10–11 October
  • All Saints’ Day: closed 3 November
  • Christmas 2024-25: 23 December–6 January
