Stricter conditions for family member immigration
The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal to adapt Sweden's rules on who may be granted a residence permit as a family member to the minimum levels allowed under EU law.
The Riksdag votes in favour of regulatory framework for Sweden's foreign intelligence agency
Sweden is establishing a new agency to strengthen its intelligence activities. The Riksdag voted in favour of the necessary legislative amendments to enable Sweden's foreign intelligence agency (Und) to launch its operations on 1 January 2027.
Stricter conditions for the independent school sector
The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's legislative proposal involving stricter conditions for the independent school sector. Among other things, a ban on value transfer will be introduced in three situations: for new company start-ups, changes of ownership and remedial injunctions in connection with supervision. The ban means that the money will remain within the operations.
Measures for children and young people should be decided without consent
The social welfare committee in a municipality should be able to decide on measures for children, young people and their custodians even without the consent of those concerned.
Aliens to pay reasonable compensation for dental care
The Riksdag has voted in favour of the Government's proposal regarding new rules on dental fees for certain aliens. The proposal states that applicants for international protection and certain other aliens shall pay reasonable compensation to the Swedish Migration Agency for dental care that cannot be delayed. This applies to those who have reached the age of 18 and who have an income and their own resources.
New legislation to replace the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU)
The Riksdag has voted in favour of the Government’s proposal that the current Act on the Care of Young Persons (Special Provisions) Act (LVU) be replaced by a new act on the taking into care of children and young persons and a new act on special powers for state child and youth care services.
New criminal sentencing system to be introduced
The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal for a new criminal sentencing system. The purpose of the proposal is to create a fairer criminal justice system where the penalty more accurately reflects the seriousness of the offence, the sentences that are given appear to a greater extent to be reasonable and fair, the crime victim's perspective is given a greater influence and protection of society is enhanced.
More stringent rules for young offenders
The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal to introduce more stringent rules in relation to young offenders. The purpose is, according to the Government, to address the need that has arisen with the large increase of serious crimes among young people, among others, and to maintain the credibility and legitimacy of the criminal justice system.
Parts of decision on children in detention to be paused
The Riksdag decided on 17 June to pause the legislative proposals on certain grounds for taking children into detention, time limits for certain children in detention and separation of children from their guardians.
Yes to opportunities to combat online recruitment
The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government’s proposal for a new law on the removal of online recruitment content and an amendment to the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act.

The Riksdag voted in favour of new rules on the management of surpluses in the income pension system. According to the proposal, it will be possible to apply an “accelerator pedal” in the pension system in order to increase pensions.

The Riksdag has voted in favour of several proposals for amendments to the Constitution during the 2022–2026 electoral period.

The Government wishes to make work on encouraging people to return to their home countries more efficient and implement several amendments to laws including the Aliens Act. The Riksdag has voted in favour of the Government’s proposal.

The Riksdag has voted in favour of the Government’s proposal that the moral character of aliens, in other words their way of life, should be more closely considered when considering the right to a residence permit, both when it comes to granting and withdrawing such permits.
