The Speaker Andreas Norlén will discuss with the other party leaders how the process of forming a government will proceed in the afternoon of 15 October.
On Thursday 15 October, the Riksdag examined the Speaker Andreas Norlén’s proposal for Magdalena Andersson (Social Democratic Party) as prime minister. The Riksdag rejected the Speaker’s proposal, as more than half of the members of the Riksdag voted against the proposal. Since Magdalena Andersson has not been approved by the Riksdag, the Speaker will today have telephone discussions with the other party leaders on how the process should be taken forward.
The Speaker will then consider the next step in the process. More information will be provided on Friday.
