On 19 October, the Speaker Andreas Norlén will receive the President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam in connection with the President's state visit to Sweden.
During his visit to the Riksdag, the President will meet – in addition to the Speaker – members of the Riksdag from the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on Industry and Trade. The President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam is visiting Sweden at the invitation of H.M. The King.
The purpose of the state visit is to cement and further develop bilateral relations between Sweden and Singapore, strengthen cooperation in trade, investments, innovation and research and highlight the fact that the two countries are celebrating 60 years of diplomatic relations in 2026.
The main themes of the state visit are promotion of trade and industry, innovation, the digital and green transition, emerging technologies and matters connected with critical infrastructure.
