Visit the Riksdag on Stockholm Culture Night 2026
The Riksdag will participate in Stockholm Culture Night on Saturday 18 April between 18.00 and 24.00. The Riksdag Buildings and the Riksdag Library will be open throughout the evening.
Experience the Riksdag from the inside and participate in our programme for all ages. Inside the Riksdag, you can learn more about the work of the Riksdag, meet members of the Riksdag, listen to lectures and take part in activities and experience the impressive architecture.
In the Riksdag Library during the evening, there will be discussions and activities connected to the upcoming parliamentary elections and current issues affecting society.

Activities in the East and West Wings of the Riksdag

The Swedish Parliament from a historical perspective
Programme on the history and art of the Riksdag since the beginning of the 20th century.
Venue: East Wing of the Riksdag
Entrance: Norrbro 1 B (from Riksplan)
Go back in time and learn about the Riksdag from a historical perspective, Visit the original first and second chambers from 1905 and listen to exciting stories entitled “Glimpses of parliamentary life”. You also have the opportunity to take part in activities, art and quiz walks and meet MPs for discussions about the Riksdag and democracy. For children, there is a treasure hunt.
The Riksdag of today
Programme on the Riksdag and the work of the Riksdag in modern Sweden.
Venue: West Wing of the Riksdag
Entrance: Riksgatan 3
In the West Wing of the Riksdag, you can experience the Riksdag of today. Visit the Public Gallery and see the place where the members of the Riksdag gather for their discussions and make decisions. Here you will have the opportunity to listen to lectures and watch videos on how the work of the Chamber is carried out. Children are welcome to take part in the Riksdag explorer trail.
In the foyer leading to the public gallery, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Riksdag’s five tasks, test your parliamentary knowledge in several quizzes and meet MPs for discussions on the Riksdag and democracy.

How to get to the Riksdag
The Riksdag is located on the island of Helgeandsholmen in the centre of Stockholm. The entrance to the West Wing is located at Riksgatan 3 and entry to the East Wing is via Riksplan. The Riksdag Library is situated at Storkyrkobrinken 7A in Gamla stan.

Important information
Please note that no bags larger than A4 size are permitted. Jackets and bags smaller than A4 size must be hung up in the cloakroom. Prams are not allowed.
