The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government’s proposal for an extended ban on gambling on credit.
Public hearing in the Committee on Finance on the evaluation of Swedish monetary policy 2015–2024
On Tuesday 17 February, the Committee on Finance will hold a public hearing on the evaluation of Swedish monetary policy 2015–2024. The evaluation was conducted by Carolyn Wilkins, Senior Research Scholar at Princeton University, and Morten Ravn, Professor of Economics at University College London.
Debate on Sweden’s foreign policy
The foreign policy debate will be held in the Riksdag on 18 February at 9 a.m. The Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard (Moderate Party) will introduce the debate with a presentation of the Government’s Statement of Foreign Policy, that is the Government’s objectives and priorities for foreign policy.
Driving licence tourism to be restricted
The Government wishes to limit the possibility for people with driving licences from third countries, that is countries outside the EU and the EEA, to circumvent the Swedish rules by means of what is called driving licence tourism. The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal.
Work practice with continued sickness benefit
The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government’s proposed amendments to the Social Insurance Code to lower the threshold for a return to work.

Problem with flagpole on the East Wing of the Riksdag
A problem has occurred with the flagpole on the roof of the East Wing of the Riksdag. The flag has got stuck just below the top and can neither be raised nor lowered. The Riksdag Administration is taking measures to resolve the issue.

Unlawful financial activities to be punishable by fines or imprisonment
Unlawful financial activity can now be punished with fines or imprisonment for a maximum of six years. The Riksdag has voted in favour of the Government’s proposal on this matter.

Debate between party leaders 14 January
A debate between party leaders took place at the Riksdag on Wednesday 14 January at 6 p.m. During the debate, the party leaders of all the parties represented in the Riksdag argued in favour of the policies they wish to pursue. The debate was interpreted into English.
Police work to combat sexual abuse of children should be prioritised and intensified
The Riksdag wants the Government to promptly task the Swedish Police Authority with prioritising and intensifying work to combat sexual abuse of children in digital environments. The Riksdag is therefore calling on the Government to act on this by way of an announcement.
