To editorial staff: About photo locations at the opening of the Riksdag session

The ceremony for the opening of the Riksdag session will start at 2 p.m. on Tuesday 12 September. Application is required in advance for photo locations at the ceremony. Please note that the number of locations is limited.
Journalists and photographers wishing to work in the Riksdag premises must have media accreditation to the Riksdag. Information is available on the Riksdag website (please click on the link at the end of this press release).
Application for photo location at Riksplan or in the Chamber
Holders of Riksdag media accreditation who would like a photo location at the opening of the Riksdag session must apply for it in advance. Please note that the number of locations is limited. Please note that it is not possible to be allocated a position in more than one (1) place.
The photo locations are both outdoors on Riksplan at the bottom of the steps leading to the entrance and indoors in the Chamber. In the Chamber, it is possible to apply for a location in positions 1, 7, 8, 9 and 10. See picture:

Application period
The application period starts at 8 a.m. on 31 August and ends at 5 p.m. on 7 September. Please submit your application by email to press230912@riksdagen.se. Please state your name, which media company you are working for and which photo location you would like to have.
Please note that your application does not guarantee you a place. The Riksdag Administration will inform all applicants by 11 September.
Distribution of positions
The photo locations are distributed among people with Riksdag media accreditation who have applied for a photo location. One person can be allocated only one (1) photo location. If the number of applications submitted in time exceeds the number of available positions, the positions will be distributed according to the following principles:
- First priority is given to applications from applicants working for photo agencies/news agencies that regularly sell pictures to the media which are accessible to the public in Sweden or for national daily newspapers or nationwide television channels.
- If there are still more applications than places after this, the time the application was submitted will be used, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Photo opportunity in the evening at Konserthuset – the Stockholm Concert Hall/Hötorget
In the evening of 12 September, there will be a concert at Konserthuset – the Stockholm Concert Hall – for members of the Riksdag and guests. A photo location outside Konserthuset will open for photographers at 5.30 p.m. when members and guests arrive. Photographers are required to have media accreditation to the Riksdag and to go through a security check. No prior notice of attendance is required. The concert begins at 7 p.m. and is not open to the media.
