Photo and film rights

Here you will find information about what you need to think about regarding copyright, for example, if you wish to use an image of the member of the Riksdag, a press image or a webcast which is available here on the Riksdag website.

Images, videos and webcasts on the Riksdag website are protected by the Act on Copyright in Literary and Artistic Works (1960:729). This protection means, among other things, that the owner of the copyright to a work often needs to give his or her consent to someone else using the work by, for example, making it available to the public.

Despite this copyright, it is often possible to use images, videos and webcasts found on the Riksdag website. However, if a work is made available to the public, the source must always be cited to the extent and in the way required by good practice. There are also limits as to how much a work may be altered.

Images and videos of people are regarded as personal data, and must therefore be processed in accordance with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR.

Below you will find further details about how images and other material on the Riksdag website may be used.
