Other languages
The Riksdag website contains information in several different languages and language variations. In addition, the website contains a separate section in English, and information in sign language and easy Swedish. You can also order information material in different languages.
The website contains information partly in the national minority languages in Sweden and partly in languages spoken by people living in Sweden who were born in another country.
National minority languages
The national minority languages in Sweden are:
- Finnish
- Meänkieli (Tornedal Finnish)
- Yiddish
- Romani
- Sami (Davvisámegiella/Northen Sámi)
There are several different variations of Romani. We have chosen to translate five variations of Romani (Arli, Kalderash, Kalé, Lovari and Swedish Romani). We have made the selection in cooperation with organisations for the national minorities.
Languages spoken by people living in Sweden and born in another country
The selection of other languages on the website was made on the basis of a list from Statistics Sweden of the major languages spoken by people living in Sweden who were born in another country.
This means that we have information in:
- Arabic
- Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian
- German
- English (separate section)
- Spanish
- Farsi
- Finnish
- Yiddish
- Northern Kurdish
- Southern Kurdish
- Polish
- Somalii
- Tigrinya
- Turkish
Please note that one of the languages – Finnish – is a national minority language.
