The Speaker meets party representatives

On Friday 18 September, the Speaker of the Riksdag Andreas Norlén will hold talks with the party representatives. This is one step in the process of preparing a proposal for a new Prime Minister.
On 17 September, Ulf Kristersson (Moderate Party) asked to be discharged from his duties as Prime Minister, whereupon the Speaker took a decision to discharge him. The Speaker has now begun to prepare a proposal for a new Prime Minister.
Talks with party representatives
The Speaker will hold individual talks with representatives of all the parties in the Riksdag, except the Moderate Party, where talks were held in connection with the Prime Minister’s request to be discharged. The meetings will take place in the Speaker’s office. The party representatives have been invited to talks in the order of the parties’ respective sizes in the current Riksdag elected in 2022.

- 11.10 a.m. Left Party
- 11.45 a.m. Centre Party
- 12.50 p.m. Christian Democrats
- 1.25 p.m. Green Party
- 2 p.m. Liberal Party
Following the talks with the party representatives, the Speaker will confer with the Deputy Speakers.
Press meeting
A press meeting with the Speaker in the Riksdag Press Centre is preliminary scheduled to take place at 15.30 at the earliest.
Photo pool
There will be a limited photo pool (TT and SVT) at the start of the Speaker’s meetings with the party representatives
Media accreditation and other practical information
Journalists and photographers wishing to work independently in the Riksdag premises require media accreditation to the Riksdag.
