The Speaker begins the process of forming a government

The Speaker of the Riksdag Andreas Norlén is beginning the process of preparing a proposal for a new Prime Minister.
Today, the Speaker has received Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s (Moderate Party) request to be discharged from office. In view of this, the Speaker will begin the task of preparing a proposal for a new Prime Minister.
On Friday 18 September, the Speaker will hold individual talks with the representatives of the parties in the Riksdag. More detailed information about the times of these meetings will be published later.
