Today, on Tuesday 3 November, the Speaker Andreas Norlén has given Ulf Kristersson (Moderate Party) the task of exploring the possibilities of forming a government.
On Tuesday 3 November, the Riksdag examined the Speaker Andreas Norlén’s proposal for Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist (Centre Party) as candidate for Prime Minister. The Riksdag rejected the Speaker’s proposal, as more than half of the members of the Riksdag voted against it.
The Speaker has thereafter spoken with Ulf Kristersson. The Speaker has also consulted the Deputy Speakers and informed the King.
As Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist was not approved by the Riksdag, the Speaker is, as previously announced, giving Ulf Kristersson the task from Tuesday 3 November of exploring the possibilities of forming a government that can be tolerated by the Riksdag. Ulf Kristersson will report back on his task no later than 10 November.
