Members of the Riksdag observe parliamentary elections in Hungary

Parliamentary elections are to be held in Hungary on 12 April. Eight members of the Riksdag are included in an international delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE that will observe the elections.
Parliamentary elections are to be held in Hungary on 12 April. Eight members of the Riksdag are included in an international delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE that will observe the elections.
Some 111 members of parliament from 38 countries from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Parliamentary Assembly will be participating.Their task is to monitor whether the election is open and conducted in a correct way, by being present in selected parts of the country on election day.
The members of parliament will observe the voting procedure, the handling and sealing of the ballot papers and the counting of votes in a selection of polling stations.
The following eight members of parliament from Sweden are participating:
- Björn Söder (Sweden Democrats)
- Johan Buser (Social Democratic Party)
- Carina Odebrink (Social Democratic Party)
- Marie Nicholson (Moderate Party)
- Matheus Enholm (Sweden Democrats)
- Peder Björk (Social Democratic Party)
- Jessica Rodén (Social Democratic Party)
- Fredrik Malm (Liberal Party)
The Swedish MPs will observe the elections in the cities Eger, Miskolc, Nyíregyháza and Pécs.
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly
The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) is an organisation working with security, democracy and human rights. A key focus of their activities is observing elections in the member states.
The observation mission is carried out in cooperation with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), which will be following the elections on location both before and after election day.
Press conference in Budapest on 13 April
A press conference will be held in Budapest on 13 April, when a preliminary statement on the election will be issued. The statement will be published on the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly website.
