The French President to visit the Riksdag

On 30 January, the Speaker Andreas Norlén will receive the French President Emmanuel Macron in connection with the President’s state visit to Sweden. The President’s delegation includes members of the French Parliament.
During the visit to the Riksdag, the President and his delegation will meet, in addition to the Speaker, several party leaders, group leaders and members of the Riksdag from the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Committee on Defence and Committee on EU Affairs.
Background
President Emmanuel Macron will visit Sweden together with his wife Brigitte Macron at the invitation of H.M. The King. The two-day visit will start in Stockholm and end in Skåne. The purpose of the visit is to further strengthen and promote the good relations between Sweden and France. It further aims to stimulate in-depth cooperation in areas such as innovation and green transition, as well as defence and security in the neighbouring region.
