Data sharing within public administration to become simpler and less costly
Published:
The Riksdag has voted in favour of the Government's proposal on interoperability requirements for data sharing in public administration.
By means of interoperability requirements, it will be possible for data to be shared more efficiently between government agencies, municipalities and regions. The aim is to streamline and reduce costs of data sharing that occurs regularly or on a larger scale within public administration.
The interoperability requirement for data sharing shall not be followed if, for example, it is inappropriate with regard to Sweden’s security or if the protection of cybersecurity or personal data cannot be maintained.
The Act will come into force on 15 August 2026.
