Work practice with continued sickness benefit

The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government’s proposed amendments to the Social Insurance Code to lower the threshold for a return to work.
According to the proposals, an insured person who is entitled to full sickness benefit will, following an agreement with their employer, be able to carry out work practice with their employer with continued sickness benefit for a limited period.
The amendments will come into force on 1 March 2026.
