More people to be able to charge electric vehicles at home

The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government’s proposal to increase opportunities to charge electric vehicles near to one's home.
The proposal means that tenants or tenant-owners will in certain cases be entitled, at their own expense, to request the installation of charging points for electric vehicles in their own parking spaces.
The amendment is based on amended EU regulations and will come into force on 29 May 2026.
