New Public Service Act and guidelines for activities 2026–2033

The Riksdag has voted in favour of the Government’s proposal for rules for public service and its funding should be brought together in a new Public Service Act.
The Riksdag has also voted in favour of other proposals, including the formulation of the public service mandate and the financial conditions for public service companies during the 2026–2033 mandate period.
The Public Service Act and the amendments to the Radio and Television Act will come into force on 2 December 2025 and the other amendments on 1 January 2026.
