Almost 70 delegations were represented when the Speaker Andreas Norlén, together with the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk hosted a parliamentary summit in Stockholm on 23–24 November.

The meeting took place within the framework of the Crimea Platform, a format of meetings of governments and parliaments aimed at highlighting the consequences of Russia’s annexation of Crimea and war of aggression against Ukraine. The summit in Stockholm was the fourth parliamentary summit of the Crimea Platform.

“The fact that almost 70 delegations from throughout the world were represented at the parliamentary summit shows how broad support there is for Ukraine. The international community has understood that it is not only Ukraine’s freedom that is at stake in this struggle, but also the security of Europe and the future of the rules-based world order”, says the Speaker Andreas Norlén.

During the summit, a joint statement was adopted which clearly condemns Russia’s continued aggression and underlines the need for sanctions and accountability mechanisms.
