Parliamentary summit on Ukraine in Stockholm

Published:

Together with the Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Speaker Andreas Norlén will host a parliamentary summit in Stockholm on 23–24 November. The meeting will bring together invited Speakers and delegations and will take place within the framework of the Crimea Platform, a format of meetings of governments and parliaments aimed at highlighting the consequences of Russia’s annexation of Crimea.

The summit in Stockholm is the fourth parliamentary summit of the Crimea Platform. It will be held at the Riksdag.

“With the summit in Stockholm, I want to show that our parliaments remain united in our unyielding support for Ukraine and its people. That we are prepared to contribute as much as is necessary, for as long as is necessary”, says the Speaker Andreas Norlén.

In addition to highlighting the consequences of Russia’s annexation of Crimea, the Platform aims to focus on the policy of non-recognition and increase pressure on Russia to cease its annexation. Sanctions, human rights, security, and economic and environmental consequences will also be discussed.
