Swedish contribution to NATO’s deterrence and defence in 2026

The Riksdag has voted in favour of the Government's proposal on the framework for the Swedish contribution to NATO’s deterrence and defence in 2026.
The decision means that the Government may deploy Swedish armed forces consisting of ground units and special forces units of up to 1,700 people, marine units consisting of a maximum of 700 people and air and air defence units consisting of a maximum of 600 people up until 31 December 2026.
