The Speaker participates in Nordic-Baltic Conference of Speakers in Estonia

On 28-29 August, the Speaker Andreas Norlén participated in the annual Nordic-Baltic Conference of Speakers which took take place in Tallinn, Estonia.

The agenda included discussions on Nordic-Baltic parliamentary cooperation, topical issues in the respective parliaments, support to Ukraine, defence against Russia’s aggression and the NB8 Parliaments’ role in this, the transatlantic dialogue and current work with crisis preparedness in the parliaments. 

In addition, the Nordic and Baltic Speakers took part in a joint meeting with Estonian President Alar Karis.

During the visit to Estonia, the Speaker Andreas Norlén also paid a visit to the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence, met Ülo Kalm, Director of the Museum of the Coastal Swedes, and participated in lunchtime discussions with leading Estonian defence and security policy experts, arranged by the Swedish Embassy.

Participants in the annual Nordic-Baltic Conference of Speakers included Finnish Speaker Jussi Halla-aho, Icelandic Speaker Þórunn Sveinbjarnardóttir, Estonian Speaker Lauri Hussar, Latvian Speaker Daiga Mieriņa, Lithuanian Deputy Speaker Juozas Olekas, Norwegian Deputy Speaker Svein Harberg and Swedish Speaker Andreas Norlén.
