A delegation from the Riksdag will participate in the Summit of the Future and the General Debate at the UN General Assembly in New York on 21–27 September.

The delegation will include:

  • Mattias Karlsson (Moderate Party)
  • Nooshi Dadgostar (Left Party)

In connection with the General Debate at the United Nations General Assembly, the Debate if the Future will also be held. The meeting will focus largely on the extensive and multiannual reform efforts initiated by the UN Secretary-General. The goal is a more efficient and appropriate UN – the international community should be better equipped to tackle current and future challenges.

During the summit meeting, a decision will be taken to produce a political declaration, known as the Pact for the Future. The Pact for the Future will deal with subjects such as sustainable development, peace and security, digitalisation and young and future generations.
