The Speaker pays official visit to Denmark

On 1– 2 October, the Speaker Andreas Norlén visited Denmark together with three members of the Riksdag. The programme included a meeting with the Speaker of the Danish Parliament Søren Gade and participation in the opening of the Danish Parliament, the Folketing.

Items on the agenda included bilateral and Nordic cooperation, border constraints and cooperation in the Öresund region, the security policy situation and cooperation in NATO. The delegation participated in the Opening of the Danish Parliament, the Folketing, on 1 October in order to learn about and gain insights from how the Danish Parliament arranges this event.

The programme also included an audience with King Frederik X, a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, lunch with the Danish delegation to the Nordic Council and discussions with the Folketing Standing Orders Committee.

The Swedish delegation consisted of the Speaker Andreas Norlén, members of the Riksdag Heléne Björklund (SocDem), Amalia Rud Stenlöf (SocDem) and Louise Eklund (Lib) and the Secretary-General of the Riksdag Ingvar Mattson. The Swedish Ambassador to Denmark Hans Wallmark also participated in the visit.
