Member of the Riksdag Lars Wistedt (Sweden Democrats) has died

The member of the Riksdag Lars Wistedt (Sweden Democrats), Deputy Chair of the Committee on Defence and representing the constituency of Uppsala County, passed away on Monday 25 November during an official visit to Canada.
Lars Wistedt was elected to the Riksdag as a member of the Sweden Democrats in 2022. He was also a deputy member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on Justice and the Committee on EU Affairs, as well as a member of the joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence. Lars Wistedt was furthermore a deputy member of the Riksdag delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the Swedish delegation to the Nordic Council.
“I have received the sad and unexpected news of Lars Wistedt’s death. Lars Wistedt was a committed, knowledgeable and appreciated member of the Riksdag. My thoughts go to his relatives, friends and colleagues”, says the Speaker Andreas Norlén.
