First Deputy Speaker visits Qatar

The First Deputy Speaker Kenneth G Forslund (Social Democratic Party) will visit Qatar on 25–29 November together with a delegation of members of the Riksdag. The purpose of the visit is, inter alia, to discuss current issues and promote a positive image of Sweden through parliamentary contacts. 

The First Deputy Speaker will meet the Deputy Speaker of Qatar Hamda bint Hassan Al-Sulaiti, representatives of the Qatari Government and members of parliament from the parliaments in the Gulf Cooperation Council. The programme also includes meetings with representatives of universities and think tanks.

“I see this visit as an opportunity for dialogue and to promote a fact-based and positive image of Sweden,” says First Deputy Speaker Kenneth G Forslund. 

In addition to the First Deputy Speaker, the Swedish delegation includes members of the Riksdag Noria Manouchi (Moderate Party) and Malcolm Momodou Jallow (Left Party), as well as Secretary-General of the Riksdag Ingvar Mattson.
