Measures to combat crimes committed in and through companies

The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government’s legislative proposals aimed at preventing and combating crimes committed in and through companies.
As a result of the proposals, the Swedish Companies Registration Office will be able to demand personal appearances, that company hijacking is criminalised, that late payment fees will be raised and that certain rules relating to foundations will be adapted for crime prevention purposes.
The Riksdag furthermore rejected proposals in motions, of which four proposals were submitted during the general private members’ motions period 2024. The legislative amendments will come into force on 1 January 2025.
