President of the Assembly of North Macedonia visits the Riksdag

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Afrim Gashi, will pay an official visit to Stockholm on 2–3 December at the invitation of the Speaker of the Riksdag Andreas Norlén.
The Third Deputy Speaker Kerstin Lundgren will host at dinner at Villa Bonnier on 2 December, which will also be attended by members of the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence and of the Riksdag delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
The Speaker Andreas Norlén will host a meeting and a lunch on 3 December. In addition to members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on EU Affairs, this will be attended by members of the Riksdag Steering Group for Bilateral Democratic Development Cooperation with North Macedonia.
Issues on the agenda include parliamentary exchange, in particular in the light of the completed democratic development project, North Macedonia’s accession to the EU and security policy with a focus on Ukraine and the Balkans. Experiences from cooperation within the NATO Parliamentary Assembly will also be discussed.
In addition to the meetings at the Riksdag, President of the Assembly Afrim Gashi and his delegation will also receive an audience with the King, meet representatives of the Swedish Defence Research Agency, the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) and the Swedish National Audit Office, as well as State Secretary at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs Dag Hartelius and State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Johan Berggren.
