The Riksdag has voted in favour of the Government’s proposals on:

• an overall objective for total defence;
• new objectives for military and civil defence;
• the direction of the Swedish Armed Forces’ war organisation.

The Government's proposals mean a substantial reinforcement of Sweden’s total defence, consisting of both military and civilian activities.
