Work for increased security at Mynttorget

Published:

From October 2023 until the summer of 2024, work will be carried out around Mynttorget in order to increase security in the area. The work will be conducted in stages, and during this period, access around Mynttorget will be limited.

The work will affect Mynttorget, Västerlånggatan, Slottskajen, Tage Erlanders plats and Lejonbacken.

Slottskajen and Myntgatan will be open for motor traffic throughout the period, but with limited access. The streets will be fully reopened for traffic once the project is completed in the summer of 2024. Pedestrians and cyclists will also be able to use the area while the work is being conducted, but with limited access.

When the work has been completed, bollards along Myntgatan, Slottskajen and across Västerlånggatan will frame Mynttorget and Tage Erlanders plats. Myntgatan will be lined by new lighting and Slottskajen by new trees.

The work is being carried out by the Riksdag Administration in cooperation with the Royal Court of Sweden, the National Property Board and the City of Stockholm.
