No requirement for dance permits in non-public places

The requirement for a permit for public dance events which are held in non-public places, for example in restaurants and nightclubs, will be revoked. The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal.

Instead of applying for a permit, the organiser must notify the Swedish Police Authority of the event. This may be done orally and is free of charge, which is intended to facilitate the process for the organiser.

The amendment will come into force on 1 July 2023.
