Party group leaders in the Riksdag presented

The new group leaders of the parties represented in the Riksdag were presented at the first meeting of the newly-elected Riksdag on 26 September. The Riksdag also appointed a Nominations Committee for the parliamentary committees and other Riksdag bodies.

At the first meeting of the 2022/23 Riksdag session, the group leaders chosen by the parties in the Riksdag were presented. The party group leaders are responsible for the day-to-day work of the party group, as well as consultations with the Speaker.

New group leaders

The new party group leaders are:

  • Social Democratic Party: Lena Hallengren (from 7 October)
  • Sweden Democrats: Henrik Vinge
  • Moderate Party: Tobias Billström
  • Left Party: Samuel Gonzalez Westling
  • Centre Party: Daniel Bäckström
  • Christian Democrats: Camilla Brodin
  • Green Party: Rasmus Ling
  • Liberal Party: Mats Persson

The Riksdag's Nominations Committee

The Riksdag also appointed a Nominations Committee with the task of proposing the members of the parliamentary committees. The committees will be elected by the Riksdag by 4 October at the latest. The Nominations Committee will also present proposals for the members of the Committee on European Union Affairs, the Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs and several other Riksdag bodies within the next few weeks.
