The Riksdag voted in favour of a proposal from the Government concerning Sweden's contribution with an armed force to the UN mission in Mali.
Sweden has contributed with an armed force since 2014. The force that is now being sent will be assigned to complete the phasing out of the contribution in an orderly way. The contribution is to be fully phased out by 30 June 2023 at the latest.
The Riksdag approved a contribution of a maximum of 470 Swedish soldiers being sent to Mali on condition that there continues to be a mandate from the UN Security Council.
