Accreditation

Journalists and photographers must apply for and be granted media accreditation to the Riksdag to be able to work on their own in the Riksdag. The same applies to technicians and staff servicing the studios used by media companies in the Riksdag.

If you have tasks of a journalistic nature for a media company corresponding to 50 per cent employment or more – as an employee or freelance – you may be granted media accreditation to the Riksdag.

Riksdag media accreditation is valid for a maximum of two years. In the case of assignments for media companies for limited periods, accreditation is valid as long as the assignment lasts. Accreditation can also be issued for a single day.

Riksdag media accreditation allows access to Riksdag premises on weekdays during regular working hours (8.00-16.30) and at other times in connection with meetings of the Chamber or the Riksdag committees, press conferences or party meetings.

Media accreditation also allows access to offices for the media and other premises for use by members of the Riksdag, but not to offices, the Speaker's corridor and the corridor by the Secretariat of the Committee on the Constitution, the Chamber itself, the former Chambers in the East Wing of the Riksdag, the assembly rooms of the Riksdag committees and the members' lounge.

Nor does it provide right of entry to the Riksdag pre-school facility or premises for use by the Riksdag Administration. It is up to the party secretariats to decide what rules apply regarding the right of entry to party secretariat premises.

Apply for media accreditation to the Riksdag

The Riksdag Administration processes applications for media accreditation as quickly as possible, on the basis of current regulations. In order to apply for accreditation, you need to fill in the application form below.

Apply for accreditation (In Swedish)

If you wish to apply for accreditation for one day, please call +46 8 786 59 30 (press 2 for tone dialling), Monday to Thursday 8.00–16.30, Friday 8.00–15.00. The same conditions must be met to be granted accreditation for one day as for longer periods.

If you are granted media accreditation to the Riksdag

If your application is granted, you will receive a decision and further information by e-mail, among other things, about how to get your media pass and about the rules that apply in the Riksdag premises. When visiting the Riksdag, your pass must be visible at all times.

If your employment or your assignment changes before your media accreditation expires, you are obliged to notify the Riksdag Administration. After the pass has expired it must always be returned to the Riksdag Administration. This also applies if you are applying for accreditation for a new period.

Revocation of media accreditation to the Riksdag

The Riksdag can revoke your media accreditation if it can be assumed that the circumstances under which your accreditation was granted no longer exist. The same applies if you have submitted incorrect or misleading information in connection with your application, you have failed to comply with current regulations or if there are exceptional grounds for revocation.

Certain decisions can be appealed

If your application for accreditation is rejected or if your accreditation is withdrawn, you can lodge an appeal against the decision with the Riksdag Appeals Board. You will receive more information about this together with the decision.
