Yes to the Government’s spring amending budget

The Riksdag has voted in favour of the Government's proposals in the spring amending budget concerning changes in state expenditure during 2023.

Changes in appropriations are to be made in 21 of the 27 expenditure areas in the central government budget for 2023. One of these is that the temporary additional allowance to families with children as part of housing allowance is to be extended until 31 December 2023. The size of the allowance will also increase from 25 per cent to 40 per cent of the preliminary housing allowance. The new rules will come into force on 1 July 2023.

Another proposal concerns a new national target for the composition of electricity production for 2040. The new target is 100-per-cent fossil-free electricity production in 2040. The previous target was 100-per-cent renewable electricity production in 2040.

The Government’s proposals in the spring amending budget will mean that the central government budget balance and general government net lending will diminish by SEK4 billion. Some of the proposals are also expected to affect the central government budget in the coming years.
