The Riksdag voted in favour of increased use of secret investigative measures
Published:
The Riksdag voted in favour of the Government's proposal for amendments to legislation on secret investigative measures. The purpose of the proposal is to give law enforcement agencies more effective tools in their work to prevent, investigate and prosecute serious crimes. The Riksdag's decision means that law enforcement agencies will be able to use secret investigative measures, such as interception of telecommunications, camera surveillance, room surveillance and searches of computer systems to a greater extent than today.
The amendments will come into force on 1 October 2023.
