The Speaker of the Riksdag Andreas Norlén will meet representatives of the political parties of the Riksdag on Monday 19 September. This is part of the process of preparing a proposal for a new Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson (Social Democratic Party) requested her dismissal from office as Prime Minister on 15 September, and the Speaker decided to grant her request.
Magdalena Andersson is now leading a caretaker government in accordance with the rules of the Instrument of Government. In the light of this, the Speaker has now started the task of obtaining proposals for a new candidate for prime minister.
Consultation with party representatives
On Monday, the Speaker will speak individually to representatives of all the Riksdag parties apart for the Social Democrats, as this consultation took place in connection with the Prime Minister's request to be dismissed from office. The meetings will take place at the Speaker's office starting at 10.30 a.m. More precise times for the meetings will be announced later.
Following consultations with the party representatives, the Speaker will confer with the Deputy Speakers.

There will be a limited photo pool (TT and SVT) at the start of the Speaker's meetings with the party representatives.
