The Riksdag has considered some 120 proposals in motions from the general private members' motions period 2021 relating to cultural heritage issues. In connection with this, the Riksdag called on the Government by way of an announcement to examine the legal, financial and practical conditions for drawing up a cohesive regulatory framework for identifying and repatriating Sami artifacts and remains.

The Riksdag rejected the other proposals in the motions with reference to the fact that some of the measures have already been taken and work is proceeding with some of the issues raised in the motions. The motions concern, among other things, the conditions for the activities of the museum sector, protection of foreign objects of cultural interest, intangible cultural heritage and cultural heritage assets in civil engineering and urban management projects.
