Press release: Schedule for the change of government on 30 November

On Monday 29 November, the Riksdag approved the Speaker of the Riksdag Andreas Norlén's proposal to appoint Magdalena Andersson (Social Democratic Party) as Prime Minister. The change of government will take place on Tuesday 30 November.

This is joint information for the press from the Royal Household, the Riksdag and the Government Offices.

The Prime Minister comments on the situation

8.50 a.m. The Prime Minister comments on the situation at the courtyard outside Björnen, the Government Offices. Please arrive no later than 8.30 a.m. Entry via Rödbodgatan 6 between 8.00 and 8.30 a.m. Prior notice of attendance is necessary (limited number of places) to Nina Kefi, Press Coordinator, Prime Minister's Office, nina.kefi@regeringskansliet.se, no later than 3.30 p.m. on Monday. There will be a security check.

The Prime Minister delivers a Statement of Government Policy

9.30 a.m. The Prime Minister will deliver a Statement of Government Policy and announce the names of the ministers that will be included in the Government in the Chamber of the Riksdag.

Press meeting at the Riksdag

Approx. 10.45 a.m. The Prime Minister will hold a press meeting in the Grand Gallery, East Wing of the Riksdag. Please arrive no later than 10.30 a.m. Media accreditation to the Riksdag is required. There will be a security check.

Photo opportunity at Riksplan

There will be a photo opportunity at Riksplan at approx. 12.40 when the incoming Government leaves the Riksdag to walk to the Royal Palace. Please arrive by 12.20, access via Södra Helgeandstrappan. Media accreditation to the Riksdag is required. There will be a security check.

Information about media accreditation to the Riksdag

Council of State at the Royal Palace

The formal change of government will take place at 1 p.m. at a special Council of State at the Royal Palace chaired by H.M. the King, and attended by H.R.H. the Crown Princess, the Speaker and the new Government. There will be a pool for photo, video and sound recording.

Accreditation (limited number of places): by e-mail to the Royal Court Information and Press Department: press@royalcourt.se no later than 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Members of the media who have received accreditation to the Council of State are to gather at Södra slottsvalvet, Slottsbacken at 12 noon. There will be a security check.

Photo opportunity at Lejonbackens terrass

There will be a photo opportunity for the media following the Council of State at Lejonbackens terrass at approx. 1.40 p.m. Access via Mynttorget no later than 1.10 p.m.
