Schedule for change of Government activities on 9 July

On Wednesday, 7 July the Riksdag voted in favour of Speaker Andreas Norlén's proposal to appoint Stefan Löfven (Social Democrat) as Prime Minister. The change of Government will take place on Friday, 9 July.

The Prime Minister will announce the ministers in the Government

At 11 o'clock in the Riksdag, the Prime Minister will announce the ministers who will be part of the Government.

Press conference at Riksplan

The Prime Minister will then hold a press conference at Riksplan, on the steps in front of Östra Riksdagshuset, at approximately 11.45. Assembly at 11.30, entry via Södra Helgeandstrappan. Riksdag press accreditation is required. Security checks will be carried out.

Photo opportunity at Riksplan

There will be a photo opportunity at Riksplan around 13.45 when the incoming Government leaves the Riksdag to walk to the Royal Palace. Assembly at 13.30, entry via Södra Helgeandstrappan. Riksdag press accreditation is required. Security checks will be carried out.

Council of State at the Royal Palace

The formal change of Government will take place at 2.15 p.m. at a special Council of State at the Royal Palace chaired by H.M. The King. H.R.H. The Crown Princess, the Speaker and the new Government to be present. Pool for photo, film and sound recording. Security checks to be carried out.
