The Speaker Andreas Norlén is inviting the representatives of the parties in the Riksdag to new talks on Wednesday 16 January. After this, the Speaker intends to present a proposal regarding a candidate for prime minister to the Riksdag, and the proposal will be put to the vote in the Riksdag on Friday 18 January.
The talks will take place on Wednesday 16 January at the Speaker's office in the West Wing of the Riksdag at the following times:
- 8.30 a.m. The Social Democratic Party
- 8.55 a.m. The Moderate Party
- 9.20 a.m. The Sweden Democrats
- 9.45 a.m. The Centre Party
- 10.10 a.m. The Left Party
- 10.35 a.m. The Christian Democrats
- 11.00 a.m. The Liberal Party
- 11.25 a.m. The Green Party
At 2 p.m., the Speaker intends to nominate a candidate for prime minister in the Chamber.
Press meetings, Wednesday 16 January
The Riksdag Press Centre will be available if any of the party representatives wish to hold press meetings in connection with their talks with the Speaker.
At 1 p.m, the Speaker will hold a press briefing in the Riksdag Press Centre.

There will be limited photo opportunities (TT and SVT) at the start of the Speaker's meetings with the party representatives.
Friday 18 January
The Speaker's proposal will be put to the vote in the Riksdag at 9 a.m. on Friday 18 January.
At 9.30 at the earliest after the proposal has been voted on in the Chamber, the Speaker will hold a press briefing in the Riksdag Press Centre.
If the proposal for prime minister is approved, the Prime Minister is to inform the Riksdag of the names of the other ministers as soon as possible, A Council of State will then take place. If the proposal for prime minister is not tolerated by the Riksdag on Friday 18 January, a fourth and final proposal for a candidate for prime minister will be presented to the Riksdag the following week. The times for next week will be announced later.
On Thursday 27 September, the Speaker started the assignment of preparing a proposal for a new Prime Minister for the Riksdag to take a stand on. The assignment includes interview rounds with representatives of all the parties in the Riksdag and deliberations with the Deputy Speakers. The Speaker is also keeping King Carl XVI Gustaf informed of the situation regarding the assignment of presenting a proposal for a new Prime Minister.
