The next step in the process of forming a government

The Speaker Andreas Norlén is inviting the representatives of the parties in the Riksdag to new talks on Monday 14 January.

The talks will take place in the Speaker's office in the West Wing of the Riksdag at the following times:

  • 10 a.m. The Social Democratic Party
  • 10.25 a.m. The Moderate Party
  • 10.50 a.m. The Sweden Democrats
  • 11.15 a.m. The Centre Party
  • 11.40 a.m. The Left Party
  • 12.05 p.m. The Christian Democrats
  • 12.30 p.m. The Liberal Party
  • 12.55 p.m. The Green Party

At 4 p.m. the Speaker intends to nominate a candidate for prime minister in the Chamber.

Press meetings

The Riksdag Press Centre is available if the party representatives wish to hold any press meetings in connection with their talks with the Speaker.

At 3 p.m. the Speaker will hold a press meeting in the Riksdag Press Centre.

Photo opportunities

There will be limited photo opportunities (TT and TV4) at the start of the Speaker's meetings with the party representatives.


On Thursday 27 September, the Speaker started the assignment of preparing a proposal for a new Prime Minister for the Riksdag to take a stand on. The assignment includes interview rounds with representatives of all the parties in the Riksdag and deliberations with the Deputy Speakers. The Speaker is also keeping King Carl XVI Gustaf informed of the situation regarding the assignment of presenting a proposal for a new Prime Minister.

To be able to work in the Riksdag buildings, you need the Riksdag's special media accreditation - either ordinary or temporary accreditation for one day.
