The ceremony for the opening of the 2017/18 Riksdag session will take place on Tuesday September 12 at 2 p.m. In addition to members of the Riksdag and specially invited guests, accredited journalists are welcome to follow the ceremony.
The regular media accreditation for the Riksdag also applies for the opening of the Riksdag session. Journalists with valid regular accreditation therefore do not need to apply for special accreditation for the opening.
Journalists and photographers who do not have Riksdag accreditation need to apply for temporary accreditation to the opening of the Riksdag session.
Photographers requesting a specific photo location also need to apply for one. Please see the instructions below under Photo pooling.
Application for temporary accreditation
Applications should be made via e-mail to: email@example.com. Please supply the following information in your application:
- e-mail address and telephone number

The closing date for journalists and photographers without a photo location is 12 noon on Monday September 11. In the case of photographers requiring a photo location, please see below under Photo pooling.

Photographers allocated to photo pools will be notified by e-mail on Monday 11 September.
The programme will be sent out in a press release a few days before the opening.
All those with accreditation enter via Riksgatan 1 where they will pass through the security check.
Accredited journalists can follow the ceremony from the press gallery or on television in the Press Lounge. The number of seats in the press gallery is limited.
After the ceremony, the Speaker will host a reception in the Grand Gallery for members of the Riksdag and invited guests. The reception is open to the media.
Dress code: jacket.
Webcast and TV broadcast
The ceremony can be followed live via the Riksdag webcast service and on Swedish Television (SVT).
Storkyrkan and the Humanists
Riksdag accreditation is not valid for the service in Storkyrkan or for the secular ceremony arranged by the Humanists. For further information, please contact the Stockholm Cathedral Parish and the Swedish Humanist Association.
