Funding for International cooperation

The Riksdag has taken a decision on the level of various expenditure areas in the central government budget for 2018. The International cooperation expenditure area will receive SEK 2 billion. The Riksdag has decided how the funds will be distributed within this expenditure area.

The most funding – just over SEK 1.3 billion – will be allocated to fees for international organisations such as the UN, the Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. Some SEK 200 million will be allocated to peace and security-building activities, which represents an increase of SEK 40 million year-on-year. Just over SEK 170 million will be allocated to cooperation in the Baltic Sea region.
