EU Speakers' Conference

Speakers from all over Europe met in the Riksdag to discuss the consequences of the Lisbon Treaty and new communication technologies.

 

The Speaker of the Riksdag Per Westerberg had invited his colleagues from the national parliaments of the EU member states, the European Parliament and the candidate countries Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey to the annual EU Speakers' Conference.

The Riksdag Presidency of the EUSC

The EU Speakers’ Conference, EUSC, is the final meeting to be hosted by the Riksdag in connection with Sweden’s EU Presidency in the autumn of 2009. The Riksdag took over the Presidency of the EUSC from France, and will be succeeded by Belgium. The meeting was prepared at an extra EU Speakers’ Conference in the Riksdag on 11-12 December 2009.
