Sweden will continue to participate in NATO's training, advice and support mission – the Resolute Support Mission (RSM) –in Afghanistan in 2018. This follows a decision on the matter in the Riksdag.
The aim of the mission is to support Afghan security forces with training, advice and support in order to strengthen the forces' capability to independently manage the country's security.
The Riksdag authorises the Government to make a Swedish armed force comprising a maximum of 200 people available in Afghanistan. This decision will apply until 31 December 2018.
