Security matters, more well developed IT support and improved service for the members of the Riksdag were some of the areas focused on in the work of the Riksdag Administration during 2015. Preparations for extraordinary elections At the beginning of the year, the Administration had prepared itself for possible extraordinary elections, with all that this entails. When it transpired that they were not going to take place, the Administration switched back to the regular activities that it had planned to carry out concerning a new strategic plan based on the period 2015–2018. Security in focus At the end of the year, security issues came into focus when the threat level in Sweden was raised. Work on contingency and security matters in the Riksdag worked well. The Riksdag has continued to be transparent and accessible, and activities have progressed according to plan. Developed IT support Work on creating reliable and user-friendly IT systems supporting the parliamentary process is continuing. The digital meeting service through which summonses and meeting documentation are sent digitally has continued to develop and is being used more and more. We are also in the process of introducing digital workspaces, where it is possible for example to cooperate on documentation in real time. Improved service The result of our service survey shows that the members are very satisfied with the Administration as a whole. In order to improve service still more, we have planned to work on establishing a service centre that should be easy to reach and use for members, both on location in the Riksdag and in digital media. Visitor record The fact that the Riksdag is an open parliament is demonstrated particularly clearly by this year's figures on visits. Almost 70,000 people visited the Riksdag during 2015, which is an all-time high. During the year, we also opened the doors to the new Democracy Workshop. Here, thousands of school students are given training in democracy by seeing what it's like being a member of the Riksdag. Work on core values initiated The Riksdag Administration's vision is together for the good of the Riksdag. This is the guiding principle in long-term improvement efforts, in which all employees are important. During the autumn of 2015, we began working on drawing up a new set of core values. These are intended to serve as an ethical compass in our daily work and help to create a common identity.
